Obesity (Bariatric) Surgery

Fletcher Allen is a Level I Bariatric Surgery Center, which is the American College of Surgeons' highest rating.

Currently, three procedures are available in our Obesity Surgery program:

• Open Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y) Surgery
• Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y) Surgery
• Lap-Band Surgery

All procedures require thorough screening and preparation to maximize the opportunity for a successful outcome, and they also require lifetime follow-up for weight maintenance and regularly scheduled screening for complications.
