Clinical Trials

We are members of multiple national groups that conduct clinical trials. These include:

  •  Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB)
  •  National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP)
  •  Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG)
  •  Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG)
  •  Pediatric Oncology Group (POG) (via the Vermont Cancer Center)

Treatment on clinical trials is often an excellent option in cancer care. You may be invited to participate in a clinical trial of new cancer treatments.

Members of the Hematology/Oncology Unit design and conduct treatment trials for all types of cancer. Available clinical trials employ a variety of immunologic, anti-angiogenic, receptor targeting, chemotherapeutic, and other investigational agents.

Other research areas in the unit include cancer genetics, supportive care (for example, treatments for nausea and fatigue), and blood clotting.
